In Delivery: Canam delivers steel components for Ohio school

Canam’s Point of Rocks plant fabricated more than 184 tons of joists, joist girders and bridging for the construction of the new Sandy Valley Middle and High School in Magnolia, OH.
The school’s gymnasium totals 144,000 square feet. The bowstring joists, measuring up to 11’ x 99’, were left exposed to emphasize the cylinder shape of the roof.
The project was managed by Canam’s customer, general contractor CT Taylor Construction of Hudson, Ohio, specialists in school building construction.
The school is slated to open in 2009.
