Employees rally for breast cancer
Jacksonville plant employees and the company raised $500 for a breast cancer awareness and treatment project in Florida.
To support the first Susan G. Komen mammogram hotline in Florida, employees collected dollar bills from co-workers and pinned them together to form a long chain symbolic of the mammogram hotline. Employees raised $250 from their “Buddy Bucks” chain and the company contributed funds to match their efforts for a total donation of $500.
The mammogram hotline, also called the M-Line, was created to make sure all women get a mammogram, even those who can’t afford one or don’t know where to turn.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a breast cancer foundation dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment and the search for a cure.
