In Delivery: Canam U.S. fabricates tube steel trusses for a port project in Jacksonville

Canam Jacksonville fabricated 43 uncommon radiused tube trusses as well as special bowstring joists, standard joists and steel deck for a new facility at the TraPac Container Terminal, being constructed at Dames Point in Jacksonville, Florida.
The trusses are 62 feet (19 m) wide and 18 feet (5.5 m) deep. The fabrication process involved outsourcing the rolling of the tubes, fitting them together in Canam’s jig and then testing all the welds.
The new facility is a customs-receiving facility being built at the site of the 158-acre TraPac Container Terminal. The Jacksonville Port Authority (also known as JAXPORT) is responsible for the development, marketing and management of Jacksonville’s public seaport terminals.
