Canam U.S. celebrates Engineers Week 2008

For the third year, Canam plants in the U.S. will celebrate National Engineers Week (N.E.W.), which takes place from February 17-23, 2008.

The purpose of Engineers Week is to raise awareness and appreciation of the contributions that engineers have and continue to make to society as a whole. N.E.W. is therefore an ideal opportunity to recognize the invaluable work that our engineering teams do on a daily basis, particularly in designing complex projects, which characterizes the joists fabricated by Canam U.S.

As a special activity to promote Engineers Week, seven teams from Canam plants across the U.S. will compete to show off their skills. Led by an engineer, each team will design and assemble a 24 inches span and subject it to tests to see which span can support the heaviest load.

The goal of this activity is to energize our engineering teams, promote teamwork and give our engineers a chance to let their creative juices flow.
