In Delivery: Canam fabricates joists and girders for Amgen

Canam U.S. plants in Washington, Missouri, and Point of Rocks, Maryland, have teamed up to produce midspan and longspan joists as well as girders for the expansion of a distribution center for Amgen, a human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry. The Amgen facility is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Four spliced longspan joists with special white primer were fabricated at the Point of Rocks plant and will be added to the existing building infrastructure. The remaining joists will come with a standard gray primer. The longest joist fabricated for this project measured 72 feet.

The contract for this project, which required 79 tons of steel components, was awarded to Canam by Padgett Inc. of New Albany, Indiana.
