Canam’s Sunnyside plant recognized for its efforts in improving air quality
The Canam Sunnyside plant received the Air Quality Excellence Award granted by the Yakima, Regional Clean Air Agency (YRCAA) in the large-sized business category. Canam received the award for opting on its own to convert to the use of water-based paints, resulting in large reductions of hazardous air pollutants.

Receiving the award were Roger Roudebush, Vice President and General Manager, Mike Greene, Safety and Environmental Coordinator, Carole Crockett, Environmental/Safety Manager for the United States and Jesse Rodriguez, Human Resources Manager from the Sunnyside plant. |  | YRCAA received more than 20 nominations for the excellence award. The actions taken were evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Measurable air emission reductions
- Sustainable emission reductions
- Voluntary and not prompted by threat of enforcement.
Upon receiving the award, Roger Roudebush, Vice President and General Manager of the Sunnyside plant stated that Canam Group operates in line with its guiding principle to be a Good Corporate Citizen. “It is important for us to strive to respect the laws, regulations and protect the environment. As a company, we are conscious of the role we have to play and encourage our employees to do the same. Receiving this honor is very prestigious for us” stated Roger. |
